A superb bit of engineering that does the job better than anything else. If you need to cut bread then this is the product for you. It is simple and solidly made, very safe to use and is a brilliant design. Don't bother with any of the other makes, this is the one to buy. It's absolutely excellent. It's also British design and British engineering which is a plus and the kind of thing we used to do so well in the past. I have had many bread slicers but this is just about the best ever! Used along with the recommended knife, at last my bread can be cut in lovely thin slices or thicker for toast. It might seem a bit pricey at first but it is well worth the expense. Definitely a good investment if you make your own bread or even if you purchase unsliced bread. Well pleased with this slicer its very stable and really easy to use. You get a neat and even cut on your homemade bread with 3 different options, if you want a doorstop for toast just remove the white crumb catcher. Its very easy to clean and very well made. It's such a simple idea, executed brilliantly. The first thing that strikes you when you open the box is the sheer quality of construction. I like tough, elegant designs that will last for years, and this exudes both of those qualities in spades. This is an excellent product, I was using a plastic one before but struggling with it. This allows you to cut perfect slices every time without squashing the bread.
